Birden dindi parlaklığı bir yıldızın hayat ağacında
Melekler ayetlerle uğurladı cennete
Bu son yolculuğa çıkarken, tabutuna omuz veremeyen Oğlun Elkun
“Sevgili Babam” diye sesleniyor sana:

Ektiğin gümüş kavaklar bir yoksul gibi çırılçıplak
Bu Sonbaharda, sen gittiğinde döktüler yapraklarını
Tadına bakamadığın üzümler sen gidince olgunlaştı.

O çalışkan ellerinle besleyip büyüttüğün
Ağıllarından meleyerek seni çağıran kuzular, öksüzler
Sabahları Horozlar bile matemli bir sessizlikte gidişine
Yoksun, ocağımızın direği yoksun, sen gidince.

A bright star stopped shining in the garden of life
Angels read verses to send him to Heaven
Elkun, your only son who failed to carry your coffin
Now I say “my dear father” and write this obituary…

The naked white poplar trees you planted
you were not here when their leaves fell this autumn
when the grapes ripened on the vine
you were not here to eat them.

Sheep call you from their enclosure
your hard working hands are not there to feed them
even the roosters fall silent to mourn you at dawn
now you are not here and your house lacks its pillar.

It’s a sunny golden morning here
Life is beautiful under the blue sky
and the sun
When they are revealed.

But my desiring heart finds inspiration…
Life sometimes fills with emotion
and much more is on its way.
When I gently touch the golden leaves,
They flutter in the wind.

I feel that I am reading
thousands of verses of poetry.
all written for us by the God of love.
