I can hear faint music<\/span>
\nIt comes from outside like a ghost<\/span>
\nI guess it comes from an old piano<\/span>
\nAn old lady plays<\/span>
\nMissing her sweetheart\u2026<\/span>
\nIt slowly reaches my window<\/span>
\n\u201cYou are welcome\u201d I said to myself<\/span>
\n\u201cCan you cleanse my depressed soul?\u201d<\/span>
\nThen the piano becomes louder<\/span>
\nI believe music can heal our feelings of rage<\/span>
\nInspire our poems<\/span>
\nSo pure and innocent\u00a0<\/span><\/span>
\nSo kind and sympathetic<\/span>
\nIt brings things back to you<\/span>
\nMaybe beautiful memories you have lost.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Now I love to listen to music<\/span>
\nAny music I can find from my home<\/span>
\nI turn on the radio and tune it to a music channel<\/span>
\nBut there\u2019s an advert going on<\/span>
\nThey\u2019re talking about women\u2019s lipstick<\/span>
\nI search for music on a CD<\/span>
\nUyghur muqam?<\/span>
\nEuropean classical?<\/span>
\nWorld music\u2026.?<\/span>
\nToo many choices<\/span>
\nBecause she loves music<\/span>
\nI close my eyes and pick one.<\/span><\/p>\n

I like to listen to music when I feel sad<\/span>
\nIt\u2019s the only thing I can find in these days<\/span>
\nfree of politics and conflict.<\/span>
\nIt gives me courage, joy and hope<\/span>
\nI can hear my tomorrow in it<\/span>
\nLike the shining African sun, so bright!<\/span><\/p>\n
